Singularity

Vernor Vinge is The Man. If you have even a smidgeon of interest in where technology is taking us then you ought to read some of his work. Even more than Kurzweil (who seems somewhat dry to me, at times) Vinge really brings to life the idea of a Singularity. The Singularity is where transhumanism, extropianism and the progress of technology meet. I can't seem to get enough of reading about it. Even if the pace of technology ( and the current products) seems glacially slow.
