What's been going on

Workout of the Day: Lower body weights.

So it's been a few weeks since my last post. What's been going on with me besides the usual takin' care of the family and stuff. Well:

1. We've been using either just one vehicle or a succession of crappy rentals. I am now 100% happy to be out of the sedan man phase. Man they suck. We were happy to get our giant gas guzzling SUV back. Of course at maybe 40 miles a week it's not much gas objectively. My advice. Don't wreck.

2. I read probably the best short story book I've ever laid my hands on. And in general I despise short stories. I want some Moby Dick tomes when I read. But this just blew me away.

3. Finished the Size Surge weighlifting program. Gained 16 lbs. and essentially no waist size. Which is good except I had to stop all yoga, riding, hiking, etc. and eat truckloads of relatively bland food. I'll be going back to my old ways. I guess I just needed a break. Now I need a break from my break. :)

4. I've almost decided to go to Finland next year for a month long ashtanga retreat. And yes, my family is ok with it. I mean it's only 4 weeks. I just have to check the $$$ situation after Xmas and finalize some things with work. If everything works out I'll be headed there next summer. If not, then the summer after. No big hurry but I am excited that I may go so soon.
